Hey guys!
Sometimes, when I get bored of my villagers in Kittyton and
Puglet - which does happen sometimes, sadly, as I have a tendency to want loads
of villagers with the same personality and then talk to them a lot and get sick
of the repetitive dialogue, oops - I turn to Babville, aka the copy I
originally intended to use as an occasional cycling town, and which I
occasionally reset when I have the urge to start again and don't want to
destroy the towns I actually put effort into.
I thought that today, I'd talk a little bit about the
cycling/time travelling method I use to get villagers out of Babville - this is
a method I have tried and tested, after seeing loads of people on various
forums talking about it, and it's the method I've been using in my third town
for ages now when I want to kick out villagers. I recommend that you should
mainly use this if you're a cycling town or just don't really like any of your
villagers, as you can't control who moves in.
The method I use is the 1 - 1 - 5 method - this is where you
time travel 1 year, then another year, then 5 days. On the second year, there
will always be a plot in your town for someone new. When you leap forward
another 5 days, someone will be in boxes ready to leave.
Note - this is all my personal experiences with using this
method, and how I do it/what works best for me. You should mainly use this for
when you don't really care who leaves/moves in, although there is a way for you
to avoid having your favourite villagers leave. Also, stick on the beautiful
town ordinance when you're doing this, unless you're trying to get the weeding
badge, as if you don't, your town will be literally carpeted with weeds and
clovers! I accept no blame if someone you wanted to keep leaves your town.
I usually do this when I have nine villagers, I'm not sure
if it works when you have ten.
On the day your ninth villager is in boxes to leave - you
may want to go on and check this before starting to cycle - before you load up
your game, you should go to the menu and change the date to 1 year ahead -
LEAVE THE DATE THE SAME, ONLY LEAP FORWARD A YEAR! When you have done this,
load up your game as normal. When you come out of your house, you will have bed
hair, and probably a lot of weeds if you haven't got the ordinance on.
Save.
Then, repeat the same step - go forward another year,
leaving the date the same, and load up your game. You should now be exactly two
years on from the date you started on - for example, if you had someone in
boxes on the 7th May 2015, you should now be on 7th May, 2017. Load up your
game as normal. Run all around your town, looking for a plot - you don't have
to do this, I just like seeing who's going to be moving in next!
If there's someone you're trying to keep - do the step
above, but talk to all your villagers too. Save, then go back on (DO NOT CHANGE
ANYTHING) and run around until someone pings at you and asks to leave. If it's
someone you care about, deny the request. If it's someone you don't care about,
let them go.
Now, when you save and go forward, do not change the year -
simply go forward 5 days - so from 7th May 2017, you'd just go to 12th May,
2017. When you're loading up the game, Isabelle will say who is leaving as
normal.
Simply continue this method until you're happy with your
villagers or just want to reset your town if you're a cycle town!
Example -
When I was doing this, I was trying to move Fauna
out because I wanted to move her into Puglet so I could reset Kittyton and try
and find myself a Mitzi. This isn't my full results, as I was cycling for ages and I didn't record everyone who moved in/out, but it should be enough to give you an idea of what I did.
Starting villagers - Fauna, Agnes, Ed, Victoria, Tammy,
Biff, Vladimir, Maelle, Puck.
Ed was in boxes when I started cycling, my in-game time was
Jan 8th, 2012.
1 year - 8th Jan 2013 - no change.
1 year - 8th Jan 2014 - Gloria moved in.
5 days - 13th Jan 2014 - Tammy in boxes.
1 year - 13th Jan 2015 - no change.
1 year - 13th Jan 2016 - Shep moved in.
5 days - 18th Jan 2016 - Vladimir in boxes.
1 year - 18th Jan 2017 - no change.
1 year - 18th Jan 2018 - Tucker moved in.
5 days - 23rd Jan 2018 - Maelle in boxes.
1 year - 23rd Jan 2019 - no change.
1 year - 23rd Jan 2020 - Gaston moved in.
5 days - 28th Jan 2020 - Shep in boxes.
When you hit 2050 and someone is in boxes, I usually time
travel back to 2012 and then either go forward a day at a time until someone
new has a plot, or I'll invite someone in from the campsite and wait until they
have a plot - when you find the plot, go forward 5 days and someone should be
in boxes to leave.
I hope you find this guide helpful - remember, just use this
as a guideline, this is just what I do and find helpful. Fauna eventually moved
out with this method, she was very stubborn but not all your villagers will be
- you may also get some pretty good villagers when you do this, I got people
like Fang, Margie, Zucker and Diana!
Happy cycling, and I hope this helps!
